Broncos to share Vallis Way from 2016

Ealing Trailfinders will share their Vallis Way home with rugby league side London Broncos from the start of the 2016 Rugby League Championship season.

The first XIII, U19 and U16 teams will play their fixtures and train at the club after the Broncos signed a three-year deal with Trailfinders Sports Club.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone at London Broncos, their players, staff and fans. It is great that there will be rugby at Vallis Ways for 12 months a year, ” Ealing Trailfinders Director of Coaching Ben Ward said.

“Like us, London Broncos are an ambitious team and having spoken to Hendo (Broncos’ head coach Andrew Henderson) there will be plenty of opportunities for cross-code collaboration and for both teams to learn from one another.”

“We feel very strongly that this move will enable us to plan a sustainable long term future for the club, ” said London Broncos General Manager Jason Loubser.

“We made the decision to move to Trailfinders Sports Club as the facilities were the best suited for the London Broncos not only in the Championship but also in the future when we return to Super League.

“The move will enable the club to take back control over parts of the business that were relinquished in our deal with The Hive including our community programme, merchandise and revenue from the club shop.”

Currently the Broncos play at The Hive in Barnet, with their first team training in Bushey and their U16 and U19 teams training in Feltham.

London Broncos were founded in 1980 as Fulham Rugby League and since then they have played across the capital, including at nearby Griffin Park, home of Brentford FC.

“Everyone involved and affected by the London Broncos making TFSC their home believe it will prove a welcome and successful venture, and a happy association, ” Mike Gooley, Trailfinders Chairman said.

“We look forward to welcoming the London Broncos and hope for a successful partnership for many years to come.”
