Cardinal Wiseman win Y7 schools’ tournament
Cardinal Wiseman won the 2016 Ealing Schools Year Seven tournament at Vallis Way on Wednesday in the presence of Ealing Trailfinders players Jamie Kilbane, Nathan Hannay, Eoghan Grace and James Stephenson.
The Greenford-based school (pictured) won the round-robin tournament against Twyford and Drayton Manor, with all three schools playing some exciting rugby on the 3G surface despite the rain coming in late in the day.
Wiseman are coached by former Ealing Trailfinders centre Joe Price who had previously run tournaments for Year 9 and 10 pupils at Vallis Way, along with JC Lacour, who runs Ealing Trailfinders’ community programme and Declan Gallagher, who took on the refereeing duties.
Throughout the day the Ealing Trailfinders players helped coach the teams, assisted during the matches and then handed out the prizes, which included a signed ball and tickets to watch Ealing Trailfinders in action in the Greene King IPA Championship.
