Communications department roles available



Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club are currently seeking to fill two roles in their back room staff, both within the communications department, one paid and one as work experience.

Ealing Trailfinders currently play in the Greene King IPA Championship as one of the top 24 teams in the country. Since turning fully professional in 2015 the club has grown on and off the pitch, underpinned by our impressive facility at Trailfinders Sports Club.

Digital Communications Officer

We are looking for the Digital Communications Officer to manage all aspects of the clubs media interests, from dealing with local press to writing match reports. The individual must have good knowledge of Rugby Union and possess strong interpersonal and writing skills. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Writing match reports, press releases and match-day programme content.

• Develop and maintain relationships between written and digital press outlets.

• Manage club website and update information on a regular basis.

• Day to day running of clubs Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

• Conduct interviews and build videos with players and staff for clubs YouTube channel.

This position will be offered on a part time basis with flexible working hours. However, the successful candidate must be available for match days throughout the rugby season. 

Remuneration – To be discussed at interview

Start date – June 1st 2017

Social Media Work Experience

This role would suit a student looking to gain industry experience and a practical understanding of a range of media (such as digital and social media) in professional sport.

As social media trainee, your main responsibility will be to implement and drive the clubs engagement strategy across all social media channels.

You will be directly responding to our supporter base and using your real grasp of social media to ensure our fans are kept up to date with events throughout the rugby calendar and feel valued by the club. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Delivering engaging content across the website and social media platforms

• Develop a weekly program for media content involving player interviews, coach interviews, training video, themed topics etc.

• Pre and post match previews & interviews

• Work with the clubs Marketing Manager to promote all activities at the club

This role would suit a student looking to gain industry experience and a practical understanding of a range of media (such as digital and social media) in professional sport. Knowledge of Photoshop would be advantageous.

Flexible working hours

This is a voluntary role although expenses will be covered
