Cordy-Redden and Daniels the latest to commit for 2017-18
Ealing Trailfinders have taken further steps to reinforce their team for next season by re-signing James Cordy-Redden and Luke Daniels.
Cordy-Redden has scored six tries in 19 appearances this season after he signed on a permanent contract having played on loan from England 7s last season when he scored a try on his debut, against London Welsh.
The 23-year-old has played centre, wing and fullback this season and scored important tries against Jersey Reds and Richmond.
“Being part of the Ealing Trailfinders squad this season has been an awesome experience and although my season has come to an unfortunate, early end, reaching to the British and Irish Cup semis as well as hopefully securing a playoff spot has only reinforced my view that the club is building something special,” Cordy-Redden said.
“Hopefully I can get back fit and ready for pre-season and put my hand up for a starting shirt next season, but as always there will be some massive competition, which I’m really looking forward to.”
Daniels has been with Ealing Trailfinders for three seasons and has played both fullback and wing where his pace and power have constantly been a thorn in the side of opposition teams.
This season he has scored one try in 14 appearances to go with his five tries last season, which was his first in the Championship with Ealing Trailfinders.
Wing Miles Mantella will also be with the club next season as he signed a long-term deal when he joined from London Welsh in December. Since then he has scored five tries in six appearances.
“It is great to have all three players on board for next season,” Director of Rugby Ben Ward said. “They provide good competition in the back three and all of them have played an important role this season.
“Cordy-Redden has played a number of positions, but specifically on the wing where he provides power and a real aerial presence. He has weighed in with some important tries, most notably the winner against Jersey Reds at the start of the season.
“Luke is always an attacking threat with the ball, hits the line at pace and is hard to defend.
“Miles has made a good impact since arriving from London Welsh and has contributed some important tries.”
