Ealing Trailfinders help ring in the Christmas spirit
Ealing Trailfinders’ players have been out and about helping celebrate the start of the festive period.
On Friday club captain Danny Kenny and Tom Wheatcroft ventured down to Christ the Saviour Church on Ealing Broadway along with Bruno the Bear to light up their Christmas tree.
While there they mingled with members of the Ealing Police Cadets, who were launching their annual donate a present project, which is taking place at the Ealing, Acton and Southall stations.
They also unveiled the banner advertising the club’s Christmas fixture against Leinster A against 19 December outside the church.
Then on Sunday Chris Kinloch led a group of players to nearby Pitshanger Lane’s Light up the Lane event.
It is the third year in a row that members of the club have attended the event and Kinloch led a choir that also featured Carwyn and Llewelyn Jones, Rhys Lawrence, Will Davis, Harrison Orr, Kenny and Wheatcroft and who sang for the crowd.
“It is important our players have the chance to mix in the local community, ” Director of Coaching Ben Ward said. “We draw a lot of our support and members of our youth and mini sections from nearby, so to be able to go out and meet them at community events is very rewarding for the players and the club.
“Hopefully we will have made a few new fans and will see some of them at Vallis Way for the match against Leinster.”
