Gibbons set to pack down at Vallis Way
James Gibbons is the latest player to sign on with Ealing Trailfinders for next season’s Greene King IPA Championship campaign.
The loose-head prop arrives from Gloucester. Last year he played on loan in the Championship with capital city rivals London Scottish and the 22-year-old started both matches against Ealing Trailfinders.
“I’m really pleased to have signed for Ealing Trailfinders, ” Gibbons said. “With the players and coaching staff they have I believe they can be a top four team within the next two years and I want to play a big part in that.
“I'm looking forward to meeting the squad and cracking on with the hard work in June.”
Gibbons was a late starter to rugby and only began playing the sport seriously aged 14 having previously played football for Leicester City’s academy.
He studied and played for Hartpury College where he was taken on by the Gloucester Academy. He played five times for the Cherry and Whites before spending the past two seasons on loan in the Championship, first with Plymouth Albion and then with Scottish.
“James did very well during his time on loan at London Scottish from Gloucester this season, ” Ealing Trailfinders coach Alex Codling said.
“He has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing him to continue to develop with us.”
