Harries back for Bedford Blues cup clash

Will Harries makes his first start for two months when Ealing Trailfinders take on Bedford Blues in the British and Irish Cup at Goldington Road on Saturday.

There is also a debut for new signing Glen Townson, who signed on for the remainder of the season from Bristol a week ago.

Harries last played in a Greene King IPA Championship match against Richmond when he scored one of the five tries that Ben Ward’s team ran in that day.

It is Harries fifth appearance of the season and he will complete a back three with wings James Cordy-Redden and Phil Chesters either side of him.

Harries, Cordy-Redden and Chesters are part of a completely changed backline from the one that started the 28-12 loss to London Scottish in the league last time out.

Luke Carter and Ben Ward will link up at scrum and fly-half respectively, while Luke Peters and Lewis Jones will start in the centres.

Townson will pack down alongside Harry Casson in the second row, with James Gibbons, Alun Walker and Alex Penny ahead of them in the front row.

Willie Ryan moves across the backrow to Number 8 and he will also have the honour of leading out the side, alongside flankers Seb Nagle-Taylor and Alex Bradley.
