Harrison heading north to join Newcastle Falcons
Harrison Orr is set to take the next step in his young rugby career by signing with Aviva Premiership club Newcastle Falcons for the 2016-17 season.
The Sydney-born Orr arrived at Vallis Way in the summer of 2016 and became a key part of the Greene King IPA Championship squad with strong performances in the back and second row.
“I had no idea what to expect when moving across the world to play a different style of rugby, but I am very glad I did, ” Orr said. “I’ve had an amazing time with an amazing group of players and I would like to say a big thank you to all the players, coaching staff, back room staff and supporters for the constant support this season.
“I am very excited for what's ahead of Ealing Trailfinders and want to wish them all the best for the 2016-17 season. I will be watching on.”
The 22-year-old featured in the match-day squad 19 times this season and scored one try in the league. He previously played for Australia’s U20’s, but is English-qualified thanks to his England-born father.
“It is great to see Harrison having the chance to further his career in the Premiership, it is why he came to play in England and we would like to wish him the very best at Kingston Park, ” Ealing Trailfinders Director of Coaching Ben Ward said.
“We are proud of the way we develop players at Ealing Trailfinders and we hope to continue this for many more years.”
