Preo named Player’s Player of the Year
Adam Preocanin won the Ealing Trailfinders Players’ Player of the Year Award following the 45-12 victory over Rotherham Titans on Saturday.
The second row received the award from club captain Danny Kenny after a season in which he scored four tries in 20 Greene King IPA Championship appearances.
The 28-year-old marked the occasion by scoring in the match to help Ben Ward’s side close out the season in winning style.
“It is great to receive this recognition from my peers, ” Preocanin said. “There were some good performers throughout the season and I imagine that it would have been a close run vote.
“I wouldn’t have been able to win the award without the help of my teammates and I must thank them and all the coaching staff.”
Rhys Crane and Luke Daniels shared the Coaches’ Player of the Year and received their award from forwards’ coach Kieran Power, who was leaving the club after 12 years-service as both player and coach.
Crane also won the leading try-scorer award after he crossed the line 10 times this season and he collected the trophy from last year’s winner Phil Chesters, who weighed in with eight tries of his own.
Alex Walker retained the Supporters’ Player of the Year Award and received the award from long-time supporters Michael and Angela Jackson.
Meanwhile prop Will Davis ended an impressive season by winning the Mat Evans Award for services to the club, a trophy handed over by the 2015 winner Chris Kinloch.
