Ealing Trailfinders can announce that the following 18 players will not be with the club next season following the conclusion of the 2015-16 season.
Ben Ward’s side secured their place in the Greene King IPA Championship late in the season and are now aiming to climb higher up the table and progress further in the British and Irish Cup.
Players leaving Ealing Trailfinders
“I would like to thank all the departing players, ” Ealing Trailfinders Director of Coaching Ward said. “All these players have made a positive contribution to the club this season in helping it to retain its Championship status. We would like to wish them all the best in the future and they will always be welcome at Vallis Way.
“We have trimmed down the squad size for next season whilst keeping a key core of 22 players. Some of the players leaving have been released, some have retired, some have received good offers and decided to move on and some have decided to start looking to life after rugby and have secured themselves jobs while continuing to play semi-professionally.”
Club captain Danny Kenny, Tom Wheatcroft and Chris Kinloch are among the departees. They were key figures in the club over the past few seasons and helped the team win the 2014-15 National 1 title.
“In particular Danny Kenny has been a pleasure to work with in his role as club captain, ” Ward said. “I would also like to mention Tom Wheatcroft and Chris Kinloch who have served the club very well on and off the pitch over the last few years.”
There will be a number of player announcements over the next few weeks so keep an eye on the website for all the breaking news.
