Tom Bliss signs from Wasps
Ealing Trailfinders are delighted to announce the signing of scrum-half Tom Bliss from Wasps.
The 22-year-old USA U20 international has signed on a season-long loan and is the first of director of coaching Ben Ward’s signings of the summer. The 5’11”, 14stone player has featured five times for the Wasps so far this season.
“Tom has done very well at Wasps this season and previous to that at Loughborough, ” Ward said. “He likes to play the game at high tempo and will suit the expansive way we want to play the game.
“He is a great athlete and will add competition and depth to our squad for next season.”
Bliss was born in New York, but moved to the UK aged five months. He played junior rugby for Cobham, where he played with current Harlequins and former Ealing Trailfinders back rower Jack Clifford and later captained the Epsom College 1st XV.
He also took on Clifford when the USA met England at the 2013 U20 World Championship.
In recent years he played for Loughborough Students in the national leagues and after graduating played a handful of matches for Leicester Tigers and London Irish before he was taken on by the Wasps’ Academy.
