Yorkshire Carnegie - Five Facts



Ealing Trailfinders travel north on Saturday to take on Yorkshire Carnegie in their final regular season match of the Greene King IPA Championship season.

Ben Ward’s team qualified for the play-offs for the first time following their 72-29 victory over London Scottish at Vallis Way a week ago and they will face one of the teams they may be paired with in the upcoming semifinals.

• It will be the fourth time that Ealing Trailfinders play Yorkshire Carnegie this season. Carnegie won the league opener 30-13, lost 51-35 in the British and Irish Cup at Vallis Way, but were victorious in the final pool match, at Scarborough RFC, 14-10. 
• Bryan Redpath’s side have won their last two matches having lost the three prior to them. 
• Carnegie scrum-half Alex Davies was part of the Ealing Trailfinders squad in 2015-16 and scored 104 points in 16 matches in his one season at Vallis Way. 
• Wing Curtis Wilson used to play for Carnegie and Lewis Jones, Luke Peters and Sam Rodman all graduated from Leeds Beckett University which is linked to the Carnegie Academy.
• Carnegie’s Headingley home first hosted rugby in 1890 and was the venue for an 1893 international between England and Scotland.
