||Ealing Trailfinders signed Piers O’Conor for the 2017-18 season from Wasps, where he was part of the academy. He was well-known to Ealing Trailfinders fans after scoring three tries against their team while on loan to Bedford Blues. In the 2016-17 season he scored the Blues’ opening try in Ealing Trailfinders’ 29-16 win at Goldington Road, while last year he scored in try in both Bedford victories – 23-21 at Vallis Way and 33-24 at Goldington Road. The try in 2016-17 came while he was playing outside centre, while the two the season before came from fullback. He also has the ability to play wing. O’Conor scored 16 tries in 30 appearances for Bedford Blues and scored one try in the seven matches he played in for Wasps.
He was born in Sydney to an Australian mother and English father, but also qualifies to play for New Zealand and Ireland. They returned to England in 1998 and he played most of his early rugby in Sussex, for Eastbourne College, Lewes, Hove, and Heathfield and Waldron Colts, with whom he won the National U17 title. O’Conor moved onto Worthing Raiders and won U19 honours for Ireland and 7s caps for England. Soon after he was signed from Wasps, who loaned him to Henley Hawks where he ran in five tries in 10 matches. He has won 10 caps for England U20 and marked his debut with a try, away to Wales in Colwyn Bay.
